Working with Centerbridge Partners on a possible acquisition was a pretty positive experience overall. They know their stuff and were always on top of things.
The one thing that stuck with me, though, was the whole CEO thing. They were definitely interested in my take on running the business after the deal, but I wasn't ever totally sure how serious they were about me actually taking the reins.
Now, I get it, private equity firms have to do their due diligence and all that. But for a CEO, it'd be nice to have a clearer picture of what the leadership situation would look like if the deal went through.
Overall, I'd say Centerbridge is a good partner to work with. Just be sure to have some frank conversations about the post-acquisition leadership setup if you're in a similar boat.
